December 15, 2019 Advent – 3 The Grandmothers of Christmas – Rev. Dr. Martha Campbell
Following the Westminster Chimes Dr. Imre Szilas plays the Prelude: Variations on “Adeste Fidelis” by Marcel Dupré.
Helen Darsie leads the congregation in the Prayer for Illumination and then reads the Scripture lesson: Matthew 1:18-25.
Rev. Dr. Twining Campbell leads the congregation in the Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer.
The Choir sings Ding Dong Merrily on High, arranged by Imre Szilas accompanied by the Westminster Trio (Imre Szilas – piano, Bowie Bossendorfer – drums, Twining Campbell – bass guitar). Norm Haynes sings the solo.
Rev. Dr. Martha Campbell presents the sermon as she talks about Ruth and Joseph, Mary’s husband: two good people who were desperately trying to be faithful.
The sermon concludes with the Charge and Benediction then Dr. Imre Szilas plays the conclusion of Variations on “Adeste Fidelis” by Marcel Dupré.
