Here is the link for today’s service:
Our service begins with Rev Dr. Martha Campbell welcoming the community then Rev. Dr. Twining Campbell  joins her for the Call to Worship.  Imre Szilas plays, “The Perfect Peace,” a quiet meditative piece, by Edward Broughton for the Prelude followed by the Westminster Chimes.
Pastor Twine invites everyone to share in singing “Spirit Divine, Attend Our Prayers” – it is an old hymn (over 150 years) and we sing it to the tune of “In Christ There Is No East or West.”  He then shares the announcements: we will be returning to in-person worship on June 20th – Fathers Day – and our prayer concerns.  As a community, we pray for each other and our neighbors that on this Pentecost we will experience God’s Holy Spirit again and that we will be given the strength to continue and to minister to others.  This part of the service concludes with the Affirmation of Faith.
Imre Szilas plays the Anthem: “There’s a Sweet, Sweet Spirit” by Doris Akers and arranged by Imre.  This well known and greatly loved hymn emphasizes that God’s Holy Spirit is in our midst.
Pastor Martha then leads us in the Prayer of Illumination, reads her scripture lessons: Isaiah 65:21-23 and Acts 2:1-4, the response to the Word and preaches.  This week we are considering the Challenging Inequity of Housing that has had an immense impact on the ability of families to move, to be educated, to acquire wealth and passing it on.  Westminster has been involved in this for 50 years.  We had two low cost housing apartment complexes and sold them requiring that they remain low-cost housing for another 30 years.
As we celebrate Holy Communion Pastor Martha invites us, prays and leads us in the Lord’s Prayer.  We share the elements we have gathered and then pray and give thanks for the blessing of Jesus’ presence in our lives.
The service concludes as Pastor Martha pronounces the Benediction and Imre Szilas plays the Postlude: “Fugue in D minor” by Anton Bruckner.
Westminster’s services are filmed and edited by Robert Smith –  and are available on our webpage (wpcpas.org) and on our YouTube and Facebook pages (Westminster Presbyterian Church, Pasadena, CA).
