In our service this week Rev. Dr. Martha Campbell welcomes the Westminster Online Community to worship and we join in saying the Call to Worship.
Dr. Imre Szilas plays the Prelude: “Idyll” by Richard Wagner. Then we hear Westminster Chimes and we join in singing the 3rd stanza of our hymn, “God, Whose Giving Knows No Ending.”
Rev. Dr. Twining Campbell shares the announcements and the concern for the polarization and social antagonism in our country and leads us all in the prayers of the people and the Lord’s Prayer.
After a brief interlude Pastor Twine leads us in saying the Affirmation of Faith.

The Anthem – “Memories of Mother” is a beautiful piece written by Imre Szilas about his own mother. One small part is from Imre’s childhood, when he was practicing the piano while his mother was busy around the house – but still listening to her son. As Imre finished what he was practicing she told him, “You need to practice that some more.” During the anthem Robert Smith has created a photo montage honoring mothers with their children and members of the Westminster community with their mothers.
Pastor Martha leads us in the Prayer of Illumination, reads the morning lessons from Matthew 22:15-22 and Luke 11:42. This is the second sermon in our new series: Challenging Inequities – where we address inequities due to race, racism, and white privilege. We believe we can make a difference and change or remedy inequities in: Economic Disparity and improve our community, country and the world.
Pastor Martha pronounces the Charge and Benediction and the service concludes with Imre Szilas playing the Postlude: “Toccata in G” by Denis Eliot on the Westminster pipe organ.
Our services are filmed by Robert Smith and available on our website (wpcpas.org) and our Facebook and YouTube pages (Westminster Presbyterian Church Pasadena, CA) or, if you contact the church, we will send the links directly to you by email.
