November 26th, 2017 – Adventures in Prayer – Part 6 Strength for the Journey
Following the Westminster Chimes Rev. Dr Twining Campbell leads the people in prayers of Thanksgiving and for Christ the King – the last Sunday in the Christian year.
Following the prayer, Dr. Imre Szilas, Westminster’s Organist, accompanies the congregation to sing Hymn No. 555 – Now Thank We All Our God (the first and last stanzas)
Eleanor Dent leads us in prayer and reads the lesson for the day Ephesians 1:15-23.
The choir leads the congregation in singing “Shout to the Lord” with Dr. Imre Szilas on piano and conducting the choir, Bowie Bossendorfer on drums and Twining Campbell on bass guitar.
Then Rev. Dr. Martha Campbell talked about Adventures in Prayer – Strength for the Journey. Using contemporary imagery of Jesus in the Book of Revelation as well characters from scripture and our world, Martha helps us see that we can have hope because Jesus is calling us. In addition to hope already have an inheritance and the two will give us the strength we need to continue our journey of life.
After the benediction the service concludes with Dr. Imre Szilas playing the Postlude: “Fantasy and Fugue in G minor” by J.S. Bach.
