November 19th, 2017 – Adventures in Prayer – Part 5 When God Says Wait

Posted on November 20, 2017 @ 7:40 pm

Following the Westminster Chimes is Rev. Dr Martha Campbell praying for people in our world and congregation.

Following the prayer George Coulter leads us in prayer and reads the lesson for the day Psalm 27.

Then Rev. Dr. Twining Campbell talked about Adventures in Prayer – When God Says Wait. It’s been said there are four answers to prayer: “yes,” “no,” “maybe,” and “wait.” “Yes” is obvious. “Maybe” requires an incredibly rich prayer and spiritual life with God. “No” is always the response when the request is against God’s will. But the frequent answer is “wait” and it looks “no.” The sermon helps us as we wait to avoid pitfalls and establish some survival skills.

After the benediction the service concludes with Dr. Imre Szilas playing the Postlude “Largo” from the New World Symphony by Antonín Dvorák.
