January 21, 2018 – The Third Sunday of Epiphany – Jonah – chapter 3
Following the Westminster Chimes is the closing of the hymn medley: Every Praise Is To our God with Imre Szilas on piano, Bowie Bossendorfer on drums, and Twining Campbell on bass guitar.
Candace Bossendorfer leads the congregation in prayer and then reads the scripture lesson: Jonah 3:1-10 followed by Rev. Dr. Twining Campbell leading the congregation in the prayers of the people.
The anthem is – Glory to God– a Peruvian folk song arranged by Imre Szilas. The song features Bowie Bossendorfer playing extensively on the drums.
The sermon is by Rev. Dr. Martha Campbell and considers Jonah’s mission in Nineveh and the incredible success of his preaching and warning the people of God’s displeasure and their repentance.
Following the Benediction Imre Szilas plays “Fugue in D minor” by Felix Mendelssohn as our Postlude.
