January 14, 2018 – The Second Sunday of Epiphany -Jonah
Following the Westminster Chimes,Cynthia Martin leads us in prayer and reads the Scripture lesson: Jonah 1:17-2:10.
Then Rev. Dr. Martha Campbell leads the congregation in the prayers of the people and the Lord’s Prayer.
The anthem is
– This is the day the Lord has made – composed by Imre Szilas. The soloists are Cynthia Martin at the beginning and Terry Flach. The sound is quiet because the choir was singing in the balconies.
The sermon is by Rev. Dr. Twining Campbell and considers Jonah’s “Psalm of Thanksgiving” from the belly of the fish that swallowed him.
Following the Benediction Imre Szilas plays “Sinfonia” (to Cantata No. 29) by J.S. Bach as our Postlude.
